CVC Capital Partners has agreed to acquire a majority stake in the independent music-distribution platform DistroKid. Existing investor Insight Partners keeps a meaningful minority stake, and the deal is set to close in Q3 2026. DistroKid says it handles 30-40% of the world's new music releases, and even DIY music distribution is moving into a phase of private-equity-led platform consolidation.
