Meta's Muse Image feature, which uses photos from public Instagram accounts to generate AI images of a person, is drawing fire. SAG-AFTRA advised members and users to turn the feature off, and CAA said explicit opt-in consent should be required. The proposed labels split into 'AI-generated,' where lead vocals or instruments are AI-made, and 'AI-assisted,' where humans lead but some AI is used. It is a move to standardize AI-use metadata at the distribution layer, tied to copyright, payouts, and recommendation exposure.
