In its Q2 earnings, Netflix said around 300 titles now on the service used generative AI in production. It was applied to crowd scenes, historical settings, world-building, and post-production VFX, and some shots were finished at roughly half the cost and time of the old approach. Netflix plans to keep expanding, with an AI animation studio and more investment in AI-made content.

Google added an AI avatar built from a user's face to its video tool Google Vids. It pairs Gemini and SynthID to auto-generate presentations and corporate videos, and embeds an invisible watermark in the output. AI video is stretching past simple editing into generating a digital presenter.
