- [Music Business Worldwide] IFPI Rolls Out AI Chart Eligibility Rules Across Its Global Chart Network ↗
IFPI began applying the generative-AI eligibility rules proposed by major and independent labels to actual charts. Official charts in the Middle East and North Africa, Southeast Asia, South Africa, and parts of Latin America go first. Only tracks made with lawfully licensed AI services, substantially created by humans, and free of streaming or chart manipulation concerns can enter. IFPI is extending the rules to more than 20 national official charts, Korea's Circle Chart among them.
- [Music Business Worldwide] Google Ships 'Lyria 3.5' with Reworked Vocals ↗
Google released the AI music generation model 'Lyria 3.5' on its own music production platform, Flow Music. It improves vocal emotion and diction, melodic structure, lyric quality, and how closely it follows a prompt, with finer control over a track's tempo and length. Google did not disclose the training data, whether SynthID watermarking is applied, or how copyright is handled.
- [Variety] A 24-Hour FAST Channel Devoted Entirely to AI-Made Content Launches ↗
Fairground Entertainment is launching 'Fairground AI Creator TV,' which programs only AI-made video, across more than five connected-TV and FAST platforms. Some 40 AI content studios and creators contribute films, animation, and experimental work running around the clock. It pushes AI video out of social feeds and into TV distribution and the ad-supported streaming market.
One line: the people deciding how far AI-made work gets to climb and the people handing it a whole channel both moved on the same day.
