Korea's Broadcast Media Communications Commission set its first 2027 budget and fund plan at 297.7 billion won. It newly assigned 10 billion won to a pilot project that will turn broadcasters' video holdings into training data for AI. The plan also adds vouchers for AI production and editing tools, support for AI-assisted short-form broadcast content, and internships for young workers trained in AI technology at small and midsize broadcasters. The commission will also back a unified platform for domestic radio broadcasters and a standardization project for pay-TV viewing data.

Accord Entertainment, the agency behind the virtual group MY:RAKL, raised 2 billion won in pre-Series A funding. Smilegate, CNTTech, and SM Culture Partners joined the round. ONESTORE launched OneChat, an AI character chat service inside its content platform OneStory. Users talk with AI characters, receive story, image, and video rewards based on those conversations, and complete collections around each character. The opening lineup centers on romance and includes characters such as Moyongran from a martial-arts setting, Amelie from a European tea shop, and swimming instructor Kim Ji-hwan. ONESTORE is separating adult and general-rated experiences as it tries to move beyond app distribution into interactive character content.
